Join Us for the 2026 MHUSD Read Across America Read-In!

Morgan Hill Unified School District warmly invites community members, families, and local partners to join us on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, for our annual Read Across America Read-In celebration.

We are seeking community volunteers to read aloud in our elementary classrooms (Preschool–5th grade) as we celebrate the joy of literacy across our district. This special day connects students with caring adults who share the simple and powerful gift of reading.

Volunteers are welcome to read in English at all elementary schools. We especially encourage Spanish-speaking readers to support our Spanish Dual Language Immersion programs at P.A. Walsh and San Martin/Gwinn.

To make participation easy and welcoming, a volunteer badge is not required for this event.

How It Works:

Choose a school and teacher through the sign-up link.
The district will provide the books.
One alternate reader spot is available per teacher. Alternates will only be contacted if the original reader is unable to attend.
Book titles and optional YouTube read-aloud links are available by grade level to help you prepare.
Individual school reading times are listed in the sign-up form.

Reader sign-ups close on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

Whether you are a parent, grandparent, local business partner, retired educator, or community member who simply loves books, we hope you will join us in inspiring a love of reading in our students.
