Our School

ABOUT OUR SCHOOL

Morgan Hill Community Adult School (MHCAS) was established by Morgan Hill Unified School District in 1971 with the purpose of offering a high school diploma program for adults. Since then, the programs have expanded to include adult secondary education, English as a Second Language, HiSET/GED preparation, job preparation, classes for older adults, and community education classes.

We currently offer programs for High School Diploma, HiSET preparation, and English as a Second Language (ESL).

OUR MISSION

Morgan Hill Community Adult School serves all students by offering opportunities to acquire knowledge and skills for meeting their personal, family, educational, and employment goals, and for contributing actively to the life of the community.

STUDENT LEARNER OUTCOMES

These outcomes were created to support student growth in both skill and confidence.
Our students will:

  • Set goals: Students learn to set short-term and long-term goals, including planning for employment and continuing education.
  • Acquire skills: Students develop academic skills and behaviors that support acquisition of subject-matter knowledge and prepare for continuing education and the workplace. Students grow in confidence and self-esteem, and learn the importance of positive attitudes for success in school, work, family, and social life.
  • Monitor progress: Students learn ways of measuring their own progress towards achieving their goals.
  • Communicate Effectively: Students develop their verbal and written communication skills by participating actively in classes, expressing concerns, collaborating in problem-solving, and speaking openly about their life experiences and goals.
