HiSET: ELIGIBILITY

ELIGIBILITY TO TAKE HiSET

The equivalency tests are for adults who do not have a high school diploma. Whether you pass HiSET, GED, or TASC, you will receive the same California High School Equivalency Certificate.

In California, residents of the state who are 18 years of age or older may take HiSET. Some 17-year-olds who meet specific criteria for testing may also take the test. To determine whether you are eligible to take the HiSET in California, go to California HiSET Requirements.

For complete information on eligibility to take the equivalency tests in California, visit the California Department of Education web site.
