ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)

LEARN ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE! 

Our classes will help you learn the English language skills you need!

We offer classes in Beginning, Intermediate, and Advanced ESL. Classes meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays – morning classes from 9:00 to 12:00 and evening classes from 6:30 to 9:30 PM.

To sign up for English classes, you must come to the Adult School office and register. You will need to submit a Registration Form (o Forma de Inscripcion).

These are some useful online resources that will help you improve your English-language skills:

IMPROVE YOUR READING SKILLS: The Reading Program of the Santa Clara County Library offers personal tutoring for adults who want to improve their reading skills. Visit the READING PROGRAM web site or call (408) 262-1349.

Many great resources for ESL teachers and students can be found at WWW.BOGGLESWORLDESL.COM. The site includes exercises for practicing real life English, including job interviews, using the telephone, shopping, and everyday conversations.

FREERICE: This site gives you a chance to practice your vocabulary. You can start with beginning-level vocabulary, and choose higher levels to challenge yourself.

MERRIAM-WEBSTER’S LEARNER’S DICTIONARY: An online American English dictionary for students of English as a Second Language and other students who want to improve their language arts skills.
